Pool Lighting Problems
One common problem with pool lights is when trying to install a new light the cord gets stuck in the conduit. One solution is to splice the wire and convert the light to a low voltage light as shown below
The splice above is water tight by Blue Square Manufacturing. This particular light is a Vivid 360 color changing light 12 volts, link to site below:

Another problem with pool lights is when trying to install a GFIC (ground fault interupter circuit) to make a light safer is you get nuisance tripping. This can be caused by the connection from breaker panel to switch,from the switch to the light junction box,or the light itself. The most important thing is to have the light protected so having a GFIC right on the light junction box avoids nuiance tripping as shown below:
